Favorite memory from Santa Clara 

  • As a first-generation community college transfer student, nothing meant more than graduating, having my family witness my dissertation defense. Santa Clara is also where I met the most amazing friends.

Expertise that I have acquired in my life and career that I bring to my term of service on the SCU Alumni Board

  • As a Super Bronco, I am excited to bring a unique perspective shaped by my experiences as an undergraduate, graduate student, and former staff member at Santa Clara University. Having engaged with the university from multiple vantage points, I understand both the student experience and the institutional processes that can facilitate student success. I also bring extensive leadership experience serving on state boards, commissions, and advisory bodies, where I have strengthened my skills in strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, collaborative leadership, and consensus building. These experiences have taught me how to navigate complex challenges, understand and uplift diverse perspectives, and develop solutions that balance innovation with intentional long-term impact. During my time as a student, I was honored to be appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom (’89) to serve on the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) while simultaneously balancing my coursework, research, and campus leadership responsibilities. Managing these commitments strengthened my time management, organization, and ability to prioritize effectively while leading with purpose. As a first-generation community college transfer student, I understand firsthand the transformative power of higher education and the importance of creating a campus where every student feels a sense of belonging and has the resources to thrive. I hope to use my experiences to advocate for initiatives that strengthen student success, foster meaningful engagement across the SCU community, and ensure that all Broncos have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
