First-Year Student Application

Are You Bronco Bound? We are happy you arrived at your destination! Now that you’ve had a chance to Discover On-Campus Living, it’s time to apply for housing! The Incoming First-Year Housing Application is for newly admitted students seeking on-campus housing for the 2027–2028 academic year. Access your Housing Portal via MySCU to complete your application.

Application Timeline

• Application Opens: Wednesday, January 13, 2027, at 9:00 a.m.
• Preferred Period Deadline: Wednesday, May 5, 2027, at 5:00 p.m.
• Rolling Application Period Begins: Thursday, May 6, 2027, at 9:00AM.

Preferred Application Period
Students who submit their housing applications by the preferred period deadline may rank their Residential Learning Community (RLC) preferences and submit roommate preferences.

Rolling Application Period
Students who submit their applications beginning May 6, 2027, will be assigned based on remaining space availability. Students may still indicate their preferred RLC, but available space may limit our ability to accommodate those preferences.

The Incoming First-Year Housing Application will remain open throughout the summer for newly admitted students.

Room Type Availability
The majority of rooms in our residence halls are double rooms, with a small number of triple rooms available. Single rooms are extremely limited and are not guaranteed. Students should anticipate living in a double or triple room during their time in on-campus housing.

Residency Requirement
All first- and second-year traditional admits are required to submit a 2027–2028 housing application. Students who believe they qualify for an exemption from the Residency Requirement may then submit a Status Review request to have their eligibility evaluated under the University's policy and criteria.
